I don’t have some romantic story about wandering through the Parisian markets and stumbling across a mesh bag that I filled with beautifully colored fruits and vegetables that I couldn’t pronounce or baguettes still warm from the oven.
What I do have is a bag that was made intentionally. Every stitch was counted. One single crochet stitch and five chain stitches, that’s how you make the mesh. Then the work is turned over and every single crochet stitch is now placed on the 5 chain stitches, that’s how you make the bag.
Count the six stitches in the line to make the mesh.
Count the stitches as you gather the four ends.
Count the stitches as you decrease the sides.
Count the stitches as you make the handles.
Count the rows as you go.
Mistakes are in there. Each time I got distracted while I tried to listen to Jane Austen or while I went to dinner with the gals and lost count.
